Nele M Hollmann
I am fascinated by the many ways RNA and proteins work together to regulate life at the molecular level. Throughout my scientific career, I have studied ribonucleoprotein complexes (RNP) involved in diverse biological processes, ranging from gene regulation and translation to viral genome packaging. My research combines structural biology, biochemistry, and cell biology to understand how molecular interactions drive biological function and disease.
Originally from Germany, my scientific journey has taken me through multiple countries, institutions, and disciplines. Along the way, I have had the opportunity to train in a broad range of structural biology techniques, including crystallography, NMR, and cryoEM. These experiences shaped my passion for interdisciplinary research and continue to influence the questions we pursue in the Hollmann Lab.
When I am not in the lab, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, and taking on DIY projects. Whether hiking a new trail, exploring a new country, or building something with my own hands, I am happiest when learning, creating, and discovering how things work.
